worn front brake pads

Hi All

Have some front brake pads on order , as I had some time today , cleaned calipers up all fine and move great . n obinding can spin wheels 3-4 times when on stand.

Have noticed that pads are pretty low approx 1mm left and that after a ride the disks are slightly warm , not burning just tepid
Do worn pads pass more heat to disk ?

Cheers Steve

Cant see why they would do, discs should be at least warm after a run, as far as i recall pads will have a slight drag on the disc to keep a bit of heat in to help discs dry out.

It could well be normal , to be honest don't normally feel disk for heat .
Normally tell if there is a problem with binding by how easy the bike can be pushed out of garage .
calipers get a clean once a year , might start doing it twice a year before / after winter as only takes a hr.

Steve, modern brakes are designed to run with the pads lightly contacting the rotors. Slightly warm is normal. If they get too hot to touch then you may have a problem. It sounds like yours are all good.
