how about this one spidey

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-VOIP.../dp/B000ODUVDE

It works without a pc too and can be used as a normal phone ( its quite expensive if you can fine one) . I had the previous version which need the pc to be on and works great too.

Handy for combining a regular phone with skype functionality and therefore not have lots of phones lying around

I tried the belkin wifi skype phone which was pants. I could only use it on the skype service. It was wifi based and call quality was poor and I was forever charging it up and lost it a few times.

Wow that 1st one is a sexy bit of kit, niiiiiice.

But for my mum i need something VERY basic. She dont even know how to check her emails yet and is only just getting used to all the features of her mobile, a very basic mobile that she's had for 2yrs now, lol Bless her heart, she's lovely but has no patience to learn about tech stuff.

I got a cordless "Dualphone" a few years ago from the Skype shop , that does Skype and normal landline calls though it's been superceded several times by now. It works well, sound quality is good.

From what you say, the simpler the better, so something like the Philips jobbie maybe?

I've got a very basic Tesco Skye phone. Brand new and I got it off Freecycle, I was intending on using it, but I can't see me using it now.

Just pay the postage and its yours

Thats very kind of you mate. Got a pic? I need to show my mum to get her approval you see, she may not be technical but she is fussy, lol.

psp3000 has skype so if you've already got one no need to waste money on a phone just a note.

Here you go
Attachment 5896

It's cordless so it's not that basic, plus I think it should still have the free £5 call time voucher(if its still valid)

Arrrgh!!! Annoyingly that phone isn't compatible with Vista, which is what her laptop has. :(
Thanks anyway Maviczap.
