I'd hate to live in Wooton Bassett just now. Their humble, quiet paying of respects to the returning service men and women has been turned firstly into a media fest, then a place for fanaticists and extremists to vent their anger, and now an end point to a load of angry bikers (this isn't the only bikers group planning on riding there)
What have the people of WB done to deserve all this for heaven's sake?

All of you, go and shout or whatever at GOVERNMENT (not that that will do any good either, but at least politicians deserve to have their peace shattered?)

Your right Messie but those a-holes in Govt made sure no one could protest outside thier place cos they got sick of looking at pics of the truth that Brian Hawe had up for them to see everyday. Last thing they want is for reality or god forbid, real people, to ruin their nice quiet days spent fiddling expenses and patting each others backs.

St George's Day?

So it's only ENGLISH servicemen and women dying then?

I'd be pretty peeved if I were Welsh, Scottish or Irish and my loved ones were serving out in Afghanistan!

Wrong date to choose, IMHO.

Why go to Wotton Bassett to pay your respects to the fallen? If you were related to or knew the person being repatreated then fair enough. If you want to pay respect to the fallen then why not visite The National Memorial Arboretum?

To be honest I don't think it's a good idea either. Good intentions maybe, but just not the right thing to do.

I agree, why not join others in a dignified tribute on the Ride to the Wall 3(RTTW3) on 2nd October 2010 http://www.rttw.org/ RTTW2 raised over 29k for serving and fallen servicemen and women

I attend the repatriations in WB whenever possible with the Royal British Legion Riders http://www.rblr.co.uk/content/?page=join and the last thing WB needs is political footballs being kicked all over their attempts to silently honour our fallen lads and lasses.
