What do you need to do to your bike?

Well I wanted to write myself a list after my cockup today and this is what I have/want to do before the Wirral egg run is in march and beyond so this is mine, but what do you need want to do?

1999 Curvy:

1. Replace rear caliper as I messed it up
2. Put on new rear braided hose (in the draw)
3. Put on new front braided hoses (in the draw)
4. Replace front brake pads
5. Fix oil leak that is on the RHS engine casing, the one behind the clutch cover, mmm
6. Replace coolant after no. 5
7. Fit Scotty (in box)
8. clean the crap off everything cause it hasn't been done in about 5 years looking at it
9. Replace the rear subframe with the rather nice one quest sent me, really want to powder coat that one tbh, its loads better than mine but has the odd bit of rust but bloody good for the year
10. Replace the poo hoop Metzler Z4's with a pair of dual compound tyres (the Z4's also have alarming large holes in, ask Dave)
11. Fit the Hagon Springs (in the draw)
12. Replace indicator lenses with clear ones
13. clean the stock exhaust that's in a carrier bag so I can get it MOT'd at some point and fit with the five quid connect from fleebay
14. Fit the new RHS front fairing from Husky
15. Fit the red tank from Quest
16. Find a Canyon yellow tank to replace said red tank
17. Find a RHS rear fairing for a good price
18. Polish the pipes
19. Find an exhaust hanger to fit and fit it
20. Find an undertray in canyon to fit
21. Give it a test flight
22. Paint the engine in places it needs it
23. Remove and clean/paint the torque arm from the rear caliper
24. Fix stuff I haven't seen yet cause there will be some

Jobs Done:

1. Fitted new Phillips bulbs
2. Valve clearances checked
3. New spark plugs
4. New oil
5. New air filter
6. New oil filter
7. Cleaned and oiled chain (sounds simple but you should have seen the state of it)
8. Serviced the carbs

Stuff for the future:

1. get a new tail tidy if not on the undertray
2. Get a stainless bolt set for the bike
3. Remove the exhausts and replace the bolts with stainless (on the engine - in my mind I have a trip to spannerman for this job cause I think it will be bad)
4. Replace the rear shock with something better
5. I'm sure this list will grow

Oh and lets not forget the front reservoir clip I'm after ;-)

Re: What do you need to do to your bike?

1. Tap my swingarm threads and get my paddock bobbins to fit in.
2. Clean and lube my chain very thoroughly
3. Clean my bike, and grease up some metal.
4. Buy digital pressure reader, and air up my tyres
5. Apply some red rim stickers to my wheel that I haven't got round too.
6. Replace left headlight bulb
7. Replace Right hand foot rest
8. Get a tinted bubble screen

I don't really have a warm garage to work in, so the cold fingers really dictate how likely I am to do most of these things.

Kill the planet and use a patio heater just outside, it's worked a treat over the last few weekends for me ;-)

OK then, I'll restrict this just to the SV ;)

Swap GSXR1300(X) frontend for GSXR600K8 frontend.
Fit Igntech CDI
Fit veypor VR2
Repaint tank (and lacquer this time!)
Modify inner fairing for better airflow through radiator.
Get and fit pointy cams.
Fix lack of charging.
Consider fitting GSXR600K8 rear wheel.

Ride it more would appear to be the answer in my case (once the insurance job is finished)

First step for me is actually buying one.

From what I've read of the tests and reviews, the only things I'll think about changing for the time being would be:

- Fruity exhaust (with stainless headers preferably)
- Possible suspension upgrades
- If I get an S model, either higher clip-ons or fit the handlebars from an N model
- Tankpad
- Hugger
- Fender extender
