Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion
Hi mate, I guess it will depend on what you are starting with. Quite a few of us have put Renthals and such like on naked Pointys, and a few, me included, have put them onto a Pointy with a GSXR front end conversion. What were you after?

Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion
I am in the process of doing this, I have an S model K3 and so far have a set of Risers to fit to a N model Top yoke, to this I will be fitting a set of riser bars, effectively raising my handle bar by about five inches and moving them back by an inch and a half. All parts were sourced from E-Bay, it just needed a bit of a polish to get it all looking nice and shiny.

Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion
I have today just fitted some flat Renthals on my naked K8.
Only problem seems to be the banjo from the brake reservoir. I can't angle the levers downwards as the banjo stops at the top of the fork leg. They aren't too bad, I will ride them and see how it feels but before they were angled more downwards than now. How easy would it be to change/alter the reservoir banjo???? |
Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion

Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion
Seen it done on a Curvy, naked yoke on a faired curvy, with flat rethals. But I haven't got any photos, but didn't look like there were any problems & must better than the clipons on the curvy

Re: sv650 s pointy flat bar conversion
I have done one on my k7 svs with no probs.
I will find link for a previous thread showing pics or post up some new pics in here to show you when I get back home on sunday. Money well spent, except the t0sser who sold it me had the braided lines back as they didn't fit and didn't send any new ones out. He ignored all messages so IMO don't buy off 998cc.com as their delivery and customer services suck. Can't fault the kit though, very pleased with that, really helped my wrists and corners better as well or feels like it does anyway. |
