Charging battery

Morning people.
Last week I bought a 1999 GSXR600 and was adviced by the previous owner not to use my halfords battery charger as apparently it's not suitable. However looking at the charger it appears that it is.
This is the charger I have. It does cars and bike and will do standard as well as sealed batteries.

Has anyone got any knowledge on this.
Thank you.

I would have thought it would be OK for slow charging the battery up over night

Can't see the problem if it's 12v slow, but I stand to be corrected.

Thanks guys for your input. I honestly cannot see what the problem might be, however I don't fancy damaging the battery so won't risk it until i'm sure.

Cheers

Re: Charging battery

That charger's slow charging rate is 1.5A

Maximum charge rate of YTX9-BS battery for GSX-R600 is 1.0A

Personally I'd get an Optimate
