Iphone or blackberry - help?
Well, time has come to renew my contract and get rid of my really bad nokia N96.
I'm leaning towards an Iphone but figured I'd give you lovely bunch a change to sway my mind. Generally, I charge my phone every night. Listen to music, would like to be able to look at stuff on the internet etc. If you're replying please state whether you have either, or have used either and please give reasons and don't just state that phone that you'd buy. thanks! Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
I've got a blackberry as a work phone, and its great, but couple of guys have got Iphones and so much more to them than my blackberry. Internet is slow on blackberry and screen size is a bit small too.
Time will tell if the Iphone is as robust as the blackberry |

The iphone is a great phone, no doubt. I don't really need to check my emails on the go, but I'm fairly sure the novelty of an iphone could wear off quick, leaving me with 17 months on a contract with the same phone that I essentially use for calls/texts. I would be interested in being able to use facebook on my phone, and get on here if possible. |
Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
Work provide a Blackberry I find it fiddly, buttons and screen are small and the documents that it was supplied to display are not readable; they have stopped issuing this model and it will be replaced. So far it has been reliable as a phone and battery life in standby is excellent.
My own mobile is an iPhone and I find this to be better for me, touch screen buttons are bigger and I just like the way it works, it synchs with my mac as well as the Blackberry does with the company laptop. Battery life is not wonderful but I have allways charged my phones every night anyway so that's not an issue for me. Go play with them in the shops and see which one you get on with. |

Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
I've had my blackberry since January now... before that I had an iphone for 18 months.
In my view my iphone was easier for the internet and had a better facebook application then the blackberry. However in terms of emails, the blackberry wins. I now get my emails as soon as they are sent where as the iphone I had set to 15 minutes push which also drains the battery a fair bit. My blackberry I charge every couple of days and it doesn't actually go flat when it is charged. Iphone was charged every night as it wouldn't last for the next day. Not really tried the music player on the blackberry... but the iphones was great as it was just itunes and like an iphone. There seems to be a lot more application for the iphone and a lot of free games. Having had both... I prefer my blackberry and put up with the not as good internet and facebook, but I have a computer for those at the end of the day! My blackberry seems like it will last the length of the contract, my iphone I had a crack on the back of the casing within 6 months. |
Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
BlackBerry
I have an 8900 curve, i agree the internet is slow but that doesnt really bother me, its not unbarably (sp) slow. I have all my emails set up to it which as Lily says arrive istantly, i also set it up so they stay on the server and i recieve them on my phone and my computer. The main reason i wouldnt choose an iPhone (and this is me, im not saying its why you shouldnt) is i have an iPod touch, and all i use that for is music, i also have about 5 apps which i rarely use so imo i cant see the point in having the same object with a phone built into it. |
Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
Neither, be individual.

Build your own phone? :p I think i'll pass on that, individuality is over-rated anyway. And holdup - why a blackberry? |
Re: Iphone or blackberry - help?
Being a lowly pensioner I'll buy your N96 from you when you change:)
