Credit Crunched today
I have been given two weeks notice of redundancy today. It has been on the cards since we were told three weeks ago, but today it was confirmed. It appears that I am so far the only staff member to get chopped, but it is possible there may be one more.
What sucks though is that I have been replaced by a gaggle of very young part time lads, all of whom come to me to ask them how to do their job. I have no satisfaction in knowing that they are going to struggle, I feel only sadness that it came to this. So far 2010 has been a b1tch of a year. I am now searching hard for a new job. Anyone know of anything in the Weston/Bristol area? |

Not an uncommon scenario I'm afraid :(
Good luck. |
Re: Credit Crunched today
that sucks big style Janyne.
good luck in finding new employment. xox's |
Re: Credit Crunched today
p.s if you can prove they've filled your role again with one/all of these lads then you have a case for unfair redundancy. They're supposed to make the role redundant, not you (if they put it down to financials...iirc).

Good luck finding a new job, there are more becoming available if you look for them. |
Re: Credit Crunched today
Or their contract is the same job role as yours....

Re: Credit Crunched today
As someone has already mentioned surely it`s the job you do that`s made redundant and as a result of the company not being able to support that post you lose your job? Therefore surely it can`t be right to replace you with someone else doing the very job role that the company can no longer support (hope that makes sense!)
I`m really sorry and hope that something comes up real soon tho I`m wondering if it might be worth you talking to somebody about this to make sure the company are actually going about it the right way? |

The universe has something much better lined up for you - go get it:sunny:

When I was told, my Boss said that he was very sad to see me go, given that I give so much energy and time to my job. Sadly, it is company restructuring that is to blame and also the current economic climate. I am not bitter towards my boss, but I am bitter towards the company that has such unkind and cold rules. The lads left behind are lads I helped to train and lads I have supervised. I know that they are going to find it hard going and I know that sales figures are going to be hit because of this. It is a sad day for Bikehut Weston. For me, it is an escape into a new adventure. I made myself a promise that I would not get stuck in a dead end job, this has given me the push to move on, just when I was getting comfortable. We all know that comfort is for lazy toads, so a new adventure awaits, I just hope that it comes along fairly quickly before bad things happen to us again. |
