Hod Carrier sought in Essex/East London
My husband a bricklayer foreman. For the past couple of months he has been constantly let down by hod carriers who seem to be either lazy or unreliable.
The work is based mostly in East London out as far as Chelmsford. Pay is all legit and through the books, not cash in hand. If you are, or know of a reliable, hardworking, experienced hoddie/labourer looking for work with your own transpost then let me know by PM and I will put you in touch with my husband. |
Re: Hod Carrier sought in Essex/East London
Um, I thought hods had been made illegal because of the weights carried. ie, they were over 25kg when loaded. If I'm wrong then fair enough but I haven't seen a hod round here for years. None of the builders merchants sell them and practically all the sites use telehandlers to place the packs on the scaffold.
Just my 2p. |

Re: Hod Carrier sought in Essex/East London
The jobs he has are the smaller ones so the labourers can still carry 12 bricks, make up the cement and load out the materials. For any working at height they do now have to be loaded via a fork lift rather than guys carrying hods up and down ladders.
