Wow! I knew multi axis cnc machines were good, but that's amazing. I wouldn't like to wear an aluminium helmet though.

Excellent, still fascinate me even though i have seen them in action a few times.
See one doing a full human face once at a trade exhibition at the nec, amazing.

That is amazing, but, what is the cost for 120kg of pure aluminium and who would wear a 3.4kg helmet!? lol

When was that ?

I`m impressed with the finish considering no coolant was used and I also like the fact that they machined in anniversary logos and matted with polished finishes on part of the lid as well , nice trophy .

I used to find that at the right speeds and feeds I got a better finish with out coolant ;) it was a nice piece of work though obviously a skilled machinist not a fan of CNC though I like to machine my own work.

Probably around '99 or 2000.
They were making it out of some plastic as it was a predominantly plastic exhibition.
Think it might have been delron.
They had it doing it layers as well so you could slowly see it appearing.
Didnt see the end result, it was probably around 80% done last time i seen it.
