Headlights, only one as dip?

Not had my sv long i was just wondering if its right that my bike should have only one head light working ( nearside) when on dip beam and both on main beam ?

Check the bulbs, but there is the possibility that your bike hasn't got UK spec lights - these, dependant on country, have only one light used as dip.

European spec headlights have two on main and one on low beam

If the bulbs are both H4, then one's blown.

Thanks everyone i found out the problem it was a wire that had broke just behind the light unit any now fixed thanks all for the info.
