Triumph Tigers

Anyone know anything about the Triumph Tiger 955i.

A mate of mine thinks it might be a good idea to get one. God knows why they are hideous. I am trying to talk him out of it but he seems to like them and he's only 29!

Mind you he does wear slippers and in his house he has a woodburner.

Going on Friday to look at a 2001 example. It's got 12,000 miles on it and is up for £3200.

Anyone know if this is a good price and what too look for on them.

Cheers

Good bikes.

It just depends what you want from a bike in the end, just 'cause you think it's ugly it doesn't effect the ride.
I'd rather do long distance in a Tiger than an all out sports bike but then, I wouldn't want to go hooning with the lads on a Tiger either ;)

You would be surprised just how much of a shift a sufficient nutter can get on on an "adventure" bike.

I've seen them shift.

I just wouldn't want to be doing it!

Why, it's fun for the same reason it's fun to get a shift on on an SV. Noone expects a "lardy tourer" to be fast same as they don't expect a "girls bike" to be :-P

I fully expect the Tiger to be a barrel of fun. Not particularly heavy, big wide bars and a great upright riding position. Engine is a peach by all accounts. Could quite easily keep up with an average joe on any sportsbike.

Only thing I found sitting on one was they are tall.

Does that mean you're vertically challenged ;)

you can say that again, i wanted a new shape tiger, i could sit on it, tippy toes, but the mrs would need steps to get on the back, so sadly i got a sprint st, bummer not.

the 955i isnt that bad on height my legs can just tip toe on the floor but i have short legs from the waist up its more comfortable than my naked sv, i would like one. mileage seems very low, i would expect to pay a bit more for it, is it private or trade?
