Reductions in speed limits around Oxfordshire

For anyone who cares what's written in the little red circles, here's a list of proposed changes for Oxfordshire. Basically time to get a false plate or ride somewhere else :(

Most of it seems pretty sensible - minor extensions of 40 limits to the outskirts of towns and villages, the odd reduction from 50 to 40 (such as Benson, which makes sense)

There are even a few 40 limits being raised to NSL.

The only one that leaps out as a bit of a bummer is the B4494 being dropped fromm NSL to 50, no doubt because it allows them to police it differently, but anyone who's been on a ride with me will have seen my attitude to rural 50 limits so frankly who cares.

As to false plates or riding elsewhere, grow up man.

Yeah they do mostly make sense, but it will no doubt see an increased plod presence, particularly on the NSL - 50 limits, which as you have said Ogden, are the bits where we just tend to go at whatever speed takes our fancy - so more likely to get caught at twice the limit+. No mention of the B4011 which is good. It may already be a 50 for all I know, but I've never seen a scamera van down there. I stick to 30/40 limits anyway.

The B4494 is very bad news indeed. Guess you just need to do a sighting run first.

Sounds like a couple of years ago when most of the main peak district roads went from NSL down to 50's and 40's.

The Ironic this is the really minor road which are almost single track with no centre white line are all still NSL but you would struggle to make progress at NSL safely on them.

...and so any limit would be fairly redundant.

There's a section of 50 limit that starts not far from the A41 and runs past the prison and railway lines. It's not very long though. Feels even shorter if you take it in at 150 ;)

Oh yeah, the bit with the nice sweeping bends just before / after the roundabouts.

Roundabouts on the B4011, near the A41?

I don't think so.

If your botherd, just take your plate off. If you get pulled - 'Officer? Can I report a theft?'... thats if you bother to stop!
