Re: boots and gear lever don't mix
When i brought my alpinestars SMX4's, I had the same problem. The solution was to wear the bloody things every day, all day, for a week
Seriously, when your boots have worn in you'll feel fine changing gear again :) |
Re: boots and gear lever don't mix

Re: boots and gear lever don't mix
I don't just wear one type of boot but change depending on weather etc, first time with any new boot I'm always useless, missed changes etc.
Just wear them, you'll get used to them. :) Druid |

Re: boots and gear lever don't mix
You can adjust the gear-lever up and down, but not fore and aft.
Different boots always feel weird - you'll get used to it. |

Re: boots and gear lever don't mix
was out tonight for a bit and again are we sure it will adjust its self cause i kept missing gears..its like there isnt enough room for the boot between the gear lever and foot rest, or is it just me i bought the aplinestar smt (the ones with the soft like shoe inside)...
the leathers are really comfortable which is surprising as most people say it takes awhile, got a Dainese set, should have gone for there boots its just the alpinestar boots look so much better, and YES i I'am that vain, i really thought that song was about me im so vain....chuckle chuckle cheers again Tommo |
Re: boots and gear lever don't mix
you can adjust the gap between lever and footrest. Its easy to do too, you just need to undo the bolts on the arm connecting the gear lever to the linkage and fiddle this way n that till it goes the right way. That should be plenty of adjustment but bear in mind the threads on that bar are opposite to each other (if that made any sense) and undoing the bolts and twisting the bar is all it needs.#if you need more adjustment then you have to take the round dooberry bit (thats a technical name for it btw) off the splined gear linkage bit and put it back on one notch over.
I'm making it sound far harder than it is btw. :) |

Just make sure you do up the nuts properly otherwise this happens:
