Battery Installation
Just wondering if i would have any problems either straight away on in the future if i fit a new battery straight into the bike?
It recommends charging it for at least 5 hours first, but i have no charger with me and don't fancy forking out for another one/going out at rush hour to get one. Ta all. :D |
Re: Battery Installation
The first initial few charge and discharge cycles appear to have an effect on deep cycle ones.
Daft question but if it's not supplied charged it won't be a right lot of good to fit it. |
Re: Battery Installation
Never charged any new batteries, neither for the car nor the bike,
and irrespective of the type of the battery (some are delivered fully prepped and self-contained and some are delivered with acid in a separate container). Just not bovvered. |
Re: Battery Installation
Whenever it's possible charge a new battery - this will ensure you get the best life from it.

Re: Battery Installation
a full charge is best, however it wont kill it if you charge it on the bike (according to batteryman)

Re: Battery Installation
Anyone got any idea how long a fully charged battery would last, in terms of miles, if it wasn't being charged as it was going along?

Re: Battery Installation
No. there are too many variables to make an estimation.
FWIW, a 1985 GSX550 would do at least 200 miles without the lights on and avoiding use of the brakes etc. PS That's not much help. In case you were wondering. |
