Engine went pop

Can anyone help me, Im in need of a company that does reasonably priced pistons and rings, gaskets etc.. for my SV, i have a place to go to get it rebored for much free-ness .
I tried the local dealer and found them very expensive :o, thought i was buying shares in the company  .
I have been looking on the website for hours and come up with nil.

Try a google search for Wiseco pistons.

OEM 'busa pistons are an option too.

Wiseco are heavy.

I found that earlier http://www.wiseco.com/Catalogs/Power...etOverbore.pdf still looking, needing a quick turn around as brother goes on a 2 week holiday in a weeks time and can only do the homer during his dinner, wemoto dont do pistons loads of other stuff but nothing i need at the moment

wiseco.com have the kit but its $433.07 = £283.70

Cupar Motorcycles want £218 but im short on the sheckles and would like it a bit cheaper if possible.

Re: Engine went pop

I last checked the oil level on friday night after a wee run to anstruther, its checked every friday and its always bang on the button, used it tuesday to go to work in edinburgh, then wednesday morning started bike up, as usual i would let it idle before i leave for work but there was a difference in the engine tone so i switched it off, on checking the oil i found it to be on the minimum line, had a look for an oil leak to find nothing, no oil on the floor.
Topped up the oil to the max level, bike started and ran fine so went for a normal (speed limit) run down the dual carridgeway but there was a lack of power and then for a split second it would lurch forward like the bike was about to run normal then would loose power and run but at a slow pace.
There was white smoke exiting the exhaust when i stopped.
So im sure that the piston rings are knackered letting the oil up into the combustion chamber and burning it, not sure if any other damage has been caused yet, thats a friday night dismantling job, cant find any other reason for missing oil or
does anyone have any ideas..

.

Can anyone offer info

Re: Engine went pop

A friend said the white smoke was probably the sign of the head gasket going but couldnt explain the missing oil other than the rings were knackered but will find out more on friday night.

Might just have to source another engine incase there is more damage,
as i cant find pistons, rings, gaskets etc for less than £218 from a suzuki dealer

cheers for all info

Re: Engine went pop

I would pop a compression tester on either cylinder (or find a garage that can investigate) and check the compression levels on each cylinder

Black smoke is unburnt fuel. White smoke is from oil. The white smoke your talking about is steam/water vapour in the exhaust.
