De-restricting FI
Hey all, i have a k5 sv650 which is restricted via a throttle pin and blade somewhere in the intake?
Its driving me nuts when im out with my mates so its got to come out but i cant find any guilds on how to take them out or even where they are located. It is an FI international kit and the throttle pin would be located?? and then presumably the blade would be in the air box some where? Iv tried the search with no avail.. Phil :) |
Re: De-restricting FI
Fuel injected models is usually restricted via the ECU .
never mind at least you wont invalidate your insurance if you haven't got a full licence. :0) |
Re: De-restricting FI
Its not ecu.. its a blade and throttle pin.. hence why i dont even have 50% throttle
Iv got a full licence and my restriction runs out at the end of august but its becoming annoying now and every one else either doesn't bother restricting them or takes it out early |
Re: De-restricting FI
What bikes have your mates got? I've got a restricted k3, which is restricted via ecu and can keep up with most. Mine will do 35 in first gear no probs and can easily do 70mph+ even two up. The only time i've noticed it being restricted is when my dad openned it up leaving a roundabout and left me for dead, but at the time i think i was on an sv400.

Lol wait for the flaming to begin...
It's fairly obvious when you look at the throttles. |
Re: De-restricting FI
Theres a gold coloured L shaped plate where the throttle cable terminates.
LHS of the bike, look inbetween the frame at the engine, should see it. Found the air intake restrictors? |
