Hastings Mayday Run 2010
 

I was wondering if anybody was planning to attend the annual hastings Mayday Run on Monday the 3rd of May. I live in Bexhill which is right next to Hastings and would like to ride out and meet others somewhere and then ride back into Hastings.....

last year was fun, but there was police aiming at speeders everwhere.
hope to go again this year.

Well when theres an estimate 20,000 bikers in one place there is sure to be 1 or 2 PC plods around. Anyway you dont go to something like that for a fast ride, you go for the atmosphere and camaraderie.

I'll be in the Netto car park in locksbottom, then trundle off about 11ish, Via Rye. I will never go down the A21 past Tunbridge wells again. Its to mental for words.

In my expierence, the police are very good on the run, basically keeping the loonies at bay and containing the whole event to a dull roar!

last year was completely over the top by the old bill, there were about 7 speed camera vans between sevenoaks and hastings, plus the unmarked sussex and kent camera bikes. even the fire brigade guys who had their stand said the plod were being knobs. ironic really as the following day a police car killed a woman on the same stretch of the A21. I live in Hastings and dont bother anymore....

I have done the run for the past 9 years, this ear being my 10th, i still disagree with the fact they go over board. I have never had an issue from the boys in dayglo on the run. I do see the 'uckwits getting pulled over, and so be it.
