Man down

First off, I'm not hurt - at all. Perfectly OK in fact. My bike is not so fortunate. Happened on the way home from Liverpool this evening on the A41 at Milton Green - about 6 miles east of Chester. It's a single carriageway, relatively poorly surfaced 40 limit. Was following a foreign registered artic (turned out it was a British driver) through the 40 when suddenly he braked damn hard. The car in front of him had done an emergency stop and then turned right. Anyways the back of the wagon was getting closer and I squeezed a bit harder - by no means an emergency stop as I always leave plenty of room. I had new tyres fitted yesterday - and I braked a bit too hard on new rubber, the front washed out and over I went on the right side, hit the road at oh about 30 I suppose, had put out my hand and landed on my right hand, right elbow and right knee. The Range Rover behind me stopped. The trucker and the lady driver helped me pick up the bike. Anyway while all this was going on, the traffic going the other way had slowed down to rubberneck and a Land Rover Defender hit the kerb as the driver didbn't see the car in front slow down. All spectacular stuff!!!! Damage to bike - offside fairing scraped, brake lever end scraped (I need those Pazzos now, Si), bar end scraped, T3 crash bung bent and scraped beyond recognition, stator cover scraped, rear seat unit scraped (badly), paddock stand bobbin scraped, rear brake lever snapped off, front right indie shot, mirror housing a bit mashed. Damage to kit - hole in right glove, elbow through leathers, right knee of pants a bit mashed. I'm not sure if my lid hit the deck. Damage to knee - nothing. Some pics Knee http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2892.jpg Jacket http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2891.jpg Rear brake http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2890.jpg Mirror housing http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2889.jpg Bar end and lever http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2888.jpg Fairing etc http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2887.jpg And again http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2886.jpg Back piece http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2885.jpg Paddock bobbin http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2884.jpg Oh **** http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...e/IMG_2883.jpg[/quote] |

Oh dear oh dear Ed:thumbdown:
You are unscathed and not under said truck so hats off to you for that. Leathers didn't hold up for much though, I'd be really disappointed in them TBH, Glad you are very very ok in honesty. |
Re: Man down
Oh gutted for you mate. Quite a bit of damage there to sort out. Leathers look like they did there job pretty well.

Re: Man down
Silly thing... least you're alright, as much of an annoyance it is about the bike though!
Are they holes in the leather jacket? At 30mph? Don't look too good from the pictures. |
