£10 solar charger from Maplin

I think I already know what the answer will be but has anyone used one of these?

I am thinking for a tenner you can't go wrong.

I don't have power in my garage and hope this will keep my battery in good condition.

based on the reviews i would say it would be worth a punt. you will be saving the plannet of nothing else. n

Only problem will be having to get the seat off to connect it up. I know the posh chargers come with a connector. Can you buy this seperately?

Yep, but you'll need a male & female connector. I guess Maplins would do these anyway

I have a caravan down in northern spain and i leave the battery hooked up to one of these. The battery is always good to use when we get down there. So I rate them.:)

Just realised these probably aren't waterproof are they? I will be sticking it on the garage roof all winter so that may damage it.

I'm sure you could put it in something transparent like a plastic container with the wire coming out of a hole sealed with silicone sealant or such like?

Why wouldn't it be? Surely something that's designed to be outside all the time has to be waterproof.
