avid gardeners... lend me your eyes

please help me identify this "plant"...
its got serrated edges on the leaves which are narrowish and pointy... the branches are a red/purple colour taken from my mobile so appreciate the quality not brilliant.. soz any help will be appreciated :) Attachment 6730 Attachment 6731 |

Might be an Astilbe, at first glance but bit completely sure. The leaf shape varies on different varieties.

thanks white rabbit but its not that one :( its got a more leathery type leaf.. the astilbe seems to have a softer leaf.. (going from the pic) i dont think this "plant" flowers tbh..
it died over winter and then over two - 3 weeks has shot up to what you see in the first pic... |

i'm with ww, got a few in my garden. has flower like plumes, usually pink.

It deffo looks like astilbe. If so they like a slightly shady damp position. Mine thrives on neglect.
