Tall person looking for a new bike

Im 6'6" / 6'7", and am looking to get a new'un

I want it to be:

Sporty
About 2004 or newer
Comfy over long and short distance (for the back and wrists)
Is quite big, so I don't look daft sat on it
More powerful than an SV
No naked bikes
I think I prefer V-twins
NO ADVENTURE BIKES!
Cheap to insure!!

Anybody know of any appropriate bikes which are nice and big? Comfy for tall people. A bigh-ish bike with a few accommodating mods like raised clip-ons is an option..

At the moment, a VFR800 is a candidate, as to give an idea of what I like. Are Triumph Sprints suitable?

And of course, only highly rated bikes! I don't want no eastern European backyard garage custom deal

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Consider a ZX9R.Cheap(unfashionable)fast and sporty in a comfortable touring type manner.

Congratulations... how to start a thread so that everybody on here who doesnt own an SV anymore can now recommend their own bike :D

I think you'd be best off getting around the dealers and sitting on a few bikes and seeing what you feel comfy on, sit on everything, I guarantee you'll be surprised about what does and doesnt feel comfortable.

I looked for insurance on a ZX9r.. "Unable to quote you Allan, you 19 year-old male. This bike is fast, and you are obviously young and stupid. Computer says noooo"

Yeah been sitting around, that's how I got to like the VFR800... but I can't test ride, so there's only so much I can get from sitting on bikes. I don't think simulating long-distance sitting on a bike in a showroom for 2 hours will go down well!

True but you will get an idea for how it feels.

What sort of riding do you do, what sort of things do you want to use it for ?

What exactly is it about the SV that you dont like or where is it lacking for you ?

I do town errands and short journeys a lot, which the SV is perfect for

I would like more BOOM off the line though, and anything over an hour and my back and wrists really start aching with the SV. Rather than modding the SV to cater for me, I'd like a bike that's already a bit more catering, and I can go from there.

Being honest, a ZZR1400 or Busa would be perfect size and power-wise, but I'm playing it safer for a decade or so
