As i have took the day off after this weekends NW6, wasnt going to but think i have damaged my shoulder, keep getting a ripping sensation in my left shoulder so thought i'd rest it today.
Anyway just about finished all my chores so after seeing and sitting on Bluepetes tiger im gonna go and try and book a test ride in the next few weeks to see if one of these would suit me, dont really wanna lose the sv as its my first bike and i have it looking the way i wanted now, but im finding it hard and uncomfortable to ride on some longer rides, been in pain all last night from my shoulder even with pain killers.

No point to this thread just sharing :)

Don't test ride a Tiger without having the cash to buy one. They're great long-distance bikes. I did find the seat a bit hard the first time I rode mine (from Bristol to London), but it's been fine since then.

The torque on the 1050 engine is incredible. It will pull cleanly from under 2K rpm in 6th gear.

Tbh if i wanted one sooner than next year i may have to part finance it, ie trade in my 09 sv, which i reckon would be less than £100 a month, i can easily afford that as just finished paying for my van which was £150 a month.

I've ridden the Tiger, is a very nice confortable bike, though very tall and I found at high speed that the nose fairing rattled about a bit, but we are talking speeds that you should only be reaching on a track day!

It's a fantastic bike and a great engine, but they are pricey. Since the tiger came out a number of alternatives have been released, ranging from the Versys which won a group test in Bike magazine this month and Lozzo swears by his, right up to the new Multistrada (get your lottery ticket bought!). Would be worth looking at large "commuter bikes as well which are also built for more comfort such as the Bandit 1250, the Honda CBF1000 and the Yamaha Fazer 1000 (Though Yamaha are just as pricey as Triumph if bought new and a new Triumph would depreciate less)

Oh Dear, booked a test ride for saturday 8th may on a tiger, but also gonna test ride the sprint st as well cos never realised how big they were.
Quite high bars and designed for touring so that is also a maybe.
They are letting me have it for the whole day if i want, or i can have both bikes for half a day each on the same day.
But im gonna have full days on both tbh, just to make sure :)

The Sprint ST is an awesome bike, and I'd certainly be the owner of one if it wasn't for the fact it doesn't have enough knee room for me.

I was amazed how comfortable the st seemed, albeit i havent rode it yet, you are smaller than me so i dont think room should be an issue.
Suspension is a little turn off for me, not fully adjustable like the tiger apparently, not that i know what im doing ;)
Told Clair about possibly changing the sv and was ok about it as long as i dont try and keep it as well as another bike.
