like stompgrips but different?
 
Im after something like stompgrip but without the nobbles thinner and clearer. basically just a rubber sticker if you will. Does anyone know if something like this exists?

Asda have these in, quite cheap as well. Usually find it down the cooking isle I think they call in cling-film.

Im a maybe, its middle of exam period but if the weather is nice and Im fed up of nosing through notes I may pop along.

I have use the clear plastic coating material that you would use on a car bonnet or wing arches----------from any motor accessory shop
I take it you want to protect the tank sides from the rubbing/abrasion from your knees
I just cut it to the shape I wanted and applied it with a hairdryer
Proper preshaped stuff from Triumph about £36----car shop £10
Unless it is pointed out to you ,you would not even know it is on there
