Tinted pinlock vs tinted visor?

Is a tinted pinlock as good as (or nearly as good as) a tinted visor?

It's better. It's legal because it's an insert where as a tinted (dark) visor is not. :)

wont you get a space around the pinlock that will let brighter light in and see it in your peripheral vision

That's all that's put me off going tinted pinlock.

Is a dark tinted insert legal then?

If it is then that is clear bonus.

Both provide the same benefits, I've tried an insert and in bright light it gave sone strange reflective effects due to light entering around the sides, that was on the xr1000 though as opposed to the XL pinlock on the xr1100.

The dark visor looks cooler though... And that counts too.

Hmmmmm! That would be my first choice of item in my helmet in a crash! Cheap thin wire and loose glass!

No thanks!
