is my bike restricted
 
hi all

i have a curvy sv and a full unristiced licence (30 years old and a das)

the thing is

how can i tell if my bike has been set at 33bhp without pulling it apart.

it pulls fairly hard but struggels to get past 100 (private road of course)

any idears?

If it can't get past 100 easily and it doesn't get to 115mph easily then it sounds like its restricted.

sounds like it's restricted. if you lift the tank and remove the airbox you'll be able to see the restrictors. if the black plastic sliders in the top of the carb have a small hole in, then its restricted with the suzuki kit, which will require some disassembly of the carbs to remove (theres a thread somewhere). Otherwise, twist the throttle and push the black slide back with your finger and you'll see the restriction washers sitting in the inlets below the carb. just pop the carbs off and have them out.

Go to Nuneaton, there are some nice gentlemen there who will gladly take on the task for you. You might want to invest in a spare indicator or two and perhaps a new exhaust in preparation though. PM Flameboy, he'll provide all the info you need.

as mr speirs said it should pull to around 115mph fairly easily its only above that that it really starts to struggle.
