My bike is fixed!
 

...with a lot of help from Andy from the 675 site. Andy offered to help me fix it, I ordered all the parts through Si, also from the 675 site, who delivered everything on time, delay was cos I moved house in the middle.

So today was the day. I rode the bike over to M54 J1 (Cannock) where Andy met me, rode up to his house, and he immediately set to with a spanner and a torque wrench. It was boiling hot but he carried on. Took the fairing off, removed the rearset, took off the brake lever, fixed up the new one from Si. Next, the ****ed offside T3 bung, we took off the mount, bit fiddly that as it was damn tight - metal had expanded in the heat, eventually it came off, onto his vice where he sawed through the bent bung, and then removed the screw from the thread and cleaned it up before putting the mount back on.

By now it must have been nudging 30C outside his house, and he lent me a pair of his shorts http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Next the Pazzos, also sourced through Si. They're titanium with gold adjusters, match the bike perfect. Took the front brake lever off, fixed up the new Pazzo shortie and no need to replace the plunger, next the clutch, bit of a bugger this one,also expanded in the heat. Big tug, off came the stock, connected up the cable, and on. I'll post some pics of the Pazzos soon.

After that, the bar end which Andy had reground on his lathe. It was completely ****ed in the off, but now looks like new http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif but the screw don't sit right, we concluded that I've bent the bar, but still its OK and so who cares http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Next, back to my house to collect the new fairing panel that I won on ebay. Down the M54 to Shrewsbury in Andy's Alfa 159 http://www.675.cc/675/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif - it didn't take very long:lol: - and on to Baschurch, quick stop to say hello to the missus, then back to Cannock with the fairing. I'd also lost the bolt that locks the back seat in place, so had left the seat at home, Andy had a spare bolt so we brought that with too. Back to Cannock, that trip seemed to take even less time:cool:

Connected up my new indies and whacked on the panel and the seat, again the metal had expanded in the heat so these jobs were a bit fiddly.

The crank cover got badly scratched in the off and I ordered a new one, but didn't replace it - would have meant draining the oil, and it isn't leaking, so it'll wait;)

Can't you get an R&G cover for it instead - will hide the damage & protect it next time :-dd

You don't need to drain the oil - it sits lower than the cover and putting the bike on the side stand helps out even more! Make sure you have a new gasket as the law of sod will dictate that if you don't, it'll rip!

New fairing panel doesn't have the Masterbike decals but I will sort that. The white label is coming off when I wash the bike later, when it cools down - must be 30C out on my driveway. Plus it needs a new T3 to match the other side.

Came off:rolleyes: I think it was while you were in Spain, so you mightn't have seen the thread.

Most of the damage was cosmetic, scratched fairings and so on. The tail unit came off worst, it was a right mess. The replacement panels came from ebay, the other bits from Triumph. The Pazzos apart, I think the total cost was about £250, lower than the excess on the insurance.

Personally I think it looks better without the masterbike ones. Looks much cleaner.
