So, what's it worth?

As a few of you may know, I am having some engine troubles. I ran it low of oil and now it's blown up.

I cannot afford to repair it, or have the mechanical knowledge to fix her up myself. So this would be a steal for somone in the know how...

2007 K6 650
11500 Miles
Light blue (in picture)
Micron can
Black screen
Tail tidy
Dent in tank
Gear lever bent
Rear tyre needs replacing.

I paid just shy of 3k in August last year. How much of this can I expect to get back?

I will replace it if I sell it, so would consider a P/X.
Bike located in Solihull

All replys welcome.

Many thanks, Aran.

I know it's not that much help but if it was in full running order the bike would be work about £2500 - £2800

If you can factor what it would cost of someone who knows what they are doing to fix it up then subtract it from the value above.

Only way to find it's true value is stick it on Ebay and see what someone bids. At a guess I would say about £1200 - £1800

Obviously remove all the extras first.

You'll no like this mate but i think you'll do well to get anything between 1100-1250-i know your bikes not that old but selling anything thats not running 100% is always gonna mean the seller takes a heavy hit.I'd keep it till i can find / afford a replacement lump

U'd get slightly more breaking the bike, but then not much more!

as the above for the best solution!!

It no longer runs...

Cheers chaps, thats depressing, but not a real surprise!

If anybody's interested drop me a PM.

I may have to Fleebay it. I have been looking for a decent engine for ages, no joy, and I just want to get riding again. So this seems the only way to go.

aran whats your budget for an engine(obviously cheaper the better)

Well like 300-350, because the labour to fit it would kill me off. Would pay more if someone was to help me fit it!

Someone will have an engine, you need to ring round all motorcycle breakers, parts suppliers everyone, i know im stating the obvious but try everybody.
They are a mass produced bike, there will be engines around.
I have seen them come up on ebay, failing that have you actually asked a motorcycle garage how much to repair it, may not be as bad as you think.

too right-the only ones i've found are about 550-650-but as said they've been going cheaper on ebay-you'll get someone from the org to help you fit it no worries-what breakers have you tried

Re: So, what's it worth?

Ive tried all the main ebay breakers, and then the ones I could find on google, rang about 20-25. Got another 10 to ring around next week. Also signed onto the national parts finder thing Barwell recommended.

I just worry that if I find an engine, it wont get fitted in time. I plan to sell the bike in the end of Sept anway.

Hmm, what to do.
