Hanging up the gloves....
 

May come as no real surprise but I'm hanging up the gloves soon. Just a small matter of getting my car test passed. Should be a month or so then done and will sell the Hornet. Just don't have fun on the bike anymore, I have the occasional quick ride to work but I see far too many tw*ts in cars not looking where they are going. Plus, if the weather is nice I'd rather be out flying my RC toys. Doubt I'll have another bike soon but I guess never say never.

Sounds like it's time to consider a green-laner! Or take up moto-cross (bottom of Minley hill most weekends) shame to waste all that kit and talent.

well your part of the GM, not riding a bike is not a real issue is it. Good luck with the car test, Becky passed hers this morning, she is a happy bunny, I am too - no more running her back and forward to college and work at silly oclock in the morning.

Hmm. Today I am very unsure of giving up the bike. Had a great ride to and from work and also gave the mrs a lift somewhere Sunday and it was really nice to pootle with her on the back.

My main reasons for giving up are:

Finances - I can't afford both and a car would certainly suit me better right now and in the winter too.

Safety - the amount of times last week where people cut me up, pulled out on me or just plain thought "F*ck you biker". Mental. Just makes me want to walk away from it. Not like I go out on large rideouts anymore.

Like KK says, doesn't mean I'll leave the fraternity for good but we're also going to be starting a family in teh next couple of years so it will definately be something I step back from at that point.
