Lids on the floor,

Not refering to the times they still surround your head cos when that happens it tends to be un-intentional on those occasions. ;)

No point to the following question, but its based on seeing a few piccy threads and seeing lids laid on their sides an it makes me chringe a little. Personally its always placed, in the same orentation as it would be if still on my noggin, but maybe I'm missing something is this wrong?

So - How do you rest your lid on the ground?

Re: Lids on the floor,

The way it won't roll. Flat bit down, as if I was wearing it buried up to the neck in sand.

Re: Lids on the floor,

I've got a really useful lid holder from Shark. Kind of a solid rubber ring that sits on the floor/table that you put your helmet into. Stops it getting scratched or knocked about when stored or changing visors, etc.
Kind of like this, but it was free.

Thats how I do it, its how I tried to explain by saying in correct orientation, but your description was better :)

Thats quite handy if you're returning to the same spot but tbf all these images seem to be ride out ones where one would have had to transport that kind pad with them on the ride.

Re: Lids on the floor,

If it's dry, helmet flat on the floor tucked as close I can under the bike. If it's wet, it stays in my hand or it's strapped to the bike.

Yeh, the lids on their sides make me cringe a bit too. I rest mine same way as Ophic!

I got a really good tip from when I did my CBT, put your gloves down (knuckles to the floor) first then put your helmet on the gloves.
