Anyone with National Trust knowledge???

The house me and Stretchie have just moved into is rented and when we moved in, we were told that the driveway up to the external front wall was just rented from the National Trust...not part of the property.

Now, we have a neighbour with 4 dogs that she has zero control over who made a point when we first met of telling me she had every right to walk as far as the external wall. LOVELY way to say hello.

She has since walked her dogs right down by the house and on two occasions now they have come into our property. They are all yellow labs and tw are 6 months old. One f the pups actually bit one of our visitors on the bum...not badly, but still did it.

Does anyone know if, because the drive is rented from the National Trust, we can put up a sign to say say private property and I can go tell the delightful Mrs. DeBoulie that she can stay away???

I normally wouldn't mind, but she is a royal PITA who believes she owns the whole hill. Quiff and Mandy can tell you some interesting things about her as well...they stayed with her as B&B guests...lol

The national trust are normally really helpful if you give them a call. The land behind my parents house is rented by a farmer from the national trust, and mum and dad normally wake up to find a sheep or pony in the garden, A quick call to the NT and explain the situation they gave mum and dad the details of the farmer.

Don't see why they wouldn't give you advise regarding this. If the land is rented by the owner of the house you live in, then it is private property? Who pays the rent for the land?

Have you phoned the National Trust?

I did voluntary work for them for a while and they are usually pretty helpful to tenants. Give them a call and explain that you have a difficult neighbour with out of control dogs.

They might send her a nice letter to tell her to F*** off! ;-)

Good luck, if the dog bites anyone again, it is phone call time to the Police.

Yeah...I called, they said it will take about 10 working days to dig out the agreement on this land as the landlords can't find their copy.

I'll chase them up but thanks guys :-)

If someone fails to control their dogs, and they are a nuisance, the owner can be slapped with an ASBO.

I hate dogs, I got bit by a little old lady's Jack Russell when I was a postie. I had to report it, it became a police matter. I was given the option to drop it, as the dog which was the little old lady's only companion would most likely be destroyed. Ha ha.

I could think of a few ways you could have returned the gesture. None of them polite :)
