Fitting grease nipples to suspension.

last weekend i removed the rear suspension linkage and discovered one of the needle bearings totaly shot. got replacement part no trouble, just wondered would it be worth the trouble of fitting grease nipples on said part. anyone done it and if so where would be the ideal place?

Re: grease nipples

just grease it up well and make sure the seals are ok.
done this in the past and they have been fine, makes you wonder if they grease the things to start with

If the linkgae were difficult to disassemble then fitting grease nipples would be a good move, but seeing as they're all easily accessed I'm not sure I'd bother. Swingarm might be different as removing that isn't so straightforward.

so probably not worth it then, swing arm is probably one other free weekend. thanks team.

Not worth hassle when you only need to do it every 30000 or so when it's been done right.

not touched it in 17000miles chris, i think there lies the problem.:)
just started to squeak over the bumps and after inspection i brushed the rotted and broken roller in the bin.

Yeah that isn't good.

I used standard bearings and O rings in the end rather than paying ruinous price for suzuki OEM sealed ones.

but you know what your doing chris, if its not in the haynes it wont get done. twas the forward bearing and cost me 20notes from suzuki.

I reckon the Jap bike industry budget for grease is one tin per year, & they share it!
Some seem to get greased & some don't. I always advise people to have the linkage stripped as soon a possible. Prevention being cheaper than cure etc.

Cheers.
