Dainese´s airbag leathers
So following on from the research that Rossi is helping Dainese with, who here would buy a set of leathers with inbuilt airbags??

Re: Dainese´s airbag leathers
I would. I looked at the textiles with airbags......just have to be careful to release the clip when you get off the bike ;-)

Re: Dainese´s airbag leathers
I thought they had moved away from the clip idea... thats a fail waiting to happen.
To be honest you would be crazy not to buy the technology if they actually manage to make it work, and for an affordable price. It's like saying, I am going to throw you off this building now... would you prefer to land on the solid concrete floor and probably hurt yourself quite badly, or you can pay me £50 and land on a massive bean bag and do yourself much less harm. I know what I would pick. |

They could do with more padding around the shins

Re: Dainese´s airbag leathers
Got myself an over jacket version of one of these by Point Two at the NEC Bike Show last week for £225 (got a deal for buying 3 with my Dad and Bro). He did a demo of it on all of us, and I was pretty impressed!
Fingers crossed I should never need it, but I said the same about my crash bungs and they've definitely been worthwhile over the years... |
Re: Dainese´s airbag leathers
I had a feeling that such a system was going to be mandatory at some point in the future but I could be wrong.

Re: Dainese´s airbag leathers
When regular protective equipment isn't compulsory, it'll be difficult to make these a requirement.

Guy Martin's one didn't look like it would help much?
