Papa's Got a Brand New Bike! - SV650S.
 

Thanks to all those who gave me advice on buying a bike. I decided to take the plunge and ended up with a SV650s 2001 for £1500. Just rode it home which was a nice 40 odd mile ride. Felt very strange at first as I am used to riding a 50cc scooter around but after about 10 minutes it was awesome!

There she is. Just need to come up with a name for her. The first one to pop into my head was Suzie (Suzie the Suzuki) but I'm thinking I could come up with better. What's everyone named their bikes?

The bike just got MOT'd today and passed with no qualms but I'm thinking maybe I should get it serviced as it hasn't been done in almost 2 years I think (although it's only done about 1500 miles in that time). Is there much that's likely to be needed or should I just start the learning process and try changing the oil/break fluid myself? It seems to run fine in my newbie opinion!

When I had one bike I used to call it "the bike". Now I've got two I call them "the black one" and "the yellow one". I'm fairly unromantic when it comes to that kind of thing.:rolleyes:
