Replacing suspension bearings
I got some longer dog bones to lower the bike so I had a chance to have a look at the needle roller bearings.
I think it was Spannerman who said Suzuki only had one tin of grease in the whole factory, I reckon that tin ran out by the time they built my bike looks like the only grease there was the protective film of the stuff that the manufactures supply them with. All the bearings have managed to survive except the frame and cushion lever one which has got a bit of play in it. Is a special tool necessary for this job? Can the old bearing be pressed out using the new with a nut, bolt and spacer for the old one. so as to leave the new one in place. Just don't want to knacker anything up these Suzuki spares are expensive :( |
Re: Replacing suspension bearings
I use a couple of sockets and a vice. I would not use the new bearing for it TBH as I like to clean and grease the bore it slides into.
