Shrinkage
You know how things either appear to be smaller as time goes bye, choccy bars etc well it's true, the bike cover i had that used to swallow the sv sport, would not fit the o6 sprint i had, it was tight on the front and i had to pull it down over the rear tightly just to get it to stay on, well i picked up my 08 sprint today with the panniers on and as we are riding alon i realized that the mrs was very close behind me, no gap what so ever betweeen us, but we put that down to the panniers being on. Anyhow i get home after 60miles or so having scrubbed the rear pr2 in and bedding in the new front brake pads, and after taking a couple of piccys i put my old cover on thinking i will have to buy a new cover soonest, and low and behold it fits pretty well straight over the front didn't quite twig at first, then pull it over the rear and no problemo, fits like a glove, result, so they have obviously chopped a couple of inches off in the length and reduced the width of the front some where between an 06 and an 08 model, either that or my cover has grown in the last 3 weeks.
Apart from the mrs being really close to me now lol, the bike is mega, loads of extras on it stainless exhaust as well, yours sincerely a happy appleyards customer. http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...wsprint020.jpg http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...print033-2.jpg http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...wsprint014.jpg http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...wsprint019.jpg http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/u...wsprint022.jpg |

Re: Shrinkage
BFM i likey
I did 280 miles on mine yesterday, longest ride so far, apart from a shoulder problem which ive had for a while it was very comfortable, that distance on the sv would have rendered my rump knackered. I love the st, now its run in, it goes like stink :D:D Have you found the panniers fiddly at first? i did. Fitted a ignition controlled standard 12v socket friday as i needed one for my satnav, i have left the standard one, which i have an adaptor for, for charging while parked. All the bits cost me less than £10, even allowing for getting raped for £4 for a 50p fuse holder from halfrauds. Will post some pics for anyone interested later. |
Re: Shrinkage
specialone, i recon i will just get an adapter for the socket that's already fitted from triumph, need to get the triumph rack and a givi plate fitted as well. Off out in a bit to put some more miles on testing of course, once i'd figured out how to work the panniers then it was pretty simples, ok gotta go, ride safe.

Re: Shrinkage
I had a bit of a mare fitting the trumpet top box rack, well actually the givi rack to the trumpet rack.
Its designed to attach to tubular frames, i had to do some modding to get it to fit and still function as a sliding rack. |
