play.com
having just phoned up and cancled my account as i never use it. i asked a few questions regarging deletion of data i was told that my account was now completly wiped from the system and all my data had been wiped during the phone call. i then asked about them having to keep the data for 6 years and they replied 'because they are in the Philippines they dont come under British law'.
but to my surprise i am still logged into my account. surprise surprise that they are a lying bunch of fekwits. so it begs the question if these people are indeed 'trustworthy' with out data. BTW i have been logged into my supposed deleted account for half an hour now. yes that is with looking around my account and refreshing the page. now i understand that when i close the page i will not be granted access afterwords, but my account deletion should have populated within their system and come back with either a login page or no page found i would have thought. |
Re: play.com
Perhaps their servers cache data, wouldnt be surprised.

Re: play.com
I wouldn't expect the call centre monkey to know the first thing about what actually happens to your data.
