Which bike magazine would u recommend?
Looking for a decent bike mag that gives a few "how to`s" and good info on riding. I dont want one that just shows pretty pictures of new bikes and crud that i`m not bothered with.
Cheers, Electro. |
Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I subscibed to Superbike mag for a few years and they had a good how 2 section and every now and then they put them all in a free pull out mag. I've got one in the garage that has helpful hints on simple service procedures!!
I'm subsribed to Fastbike now as i wanted a new disc lock and it only cost me £10 more for a years subsciption. £10 for 13 mags ain't bad!! |
Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I find Bike the best really. Usually a decent spread of 'what to do', 'how to do it', 'where to go' and 'kit tests'. Yes, there will be new bike tests, but it's probably a little difficult to find any that don't really. The Bike test fleet were all second hand bikes before which was pretty interesting, someone had a Firestorm, someone an old Fazer 600, much better than them having the latest sportsbike etc.

Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I subscribe to UBG (Used Bike Guide) , reason being it's has alot of articles from bike owners who tell it as it is , also travel stories etc , its out every 2 months and costs a think 16 quid a year
Have UBG's back donkeys years and find them usefull when looking at getting another bike to look back at previous owners comments Cheers Steveg |

Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I've been subscribed to Ride mag for a long time now. No knee down heroics and plenty of practical articles and sensible reviews. Suits me (I'm getting old.....)

Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
Stick to the org, with some of the people on here, you have engineering expertise at the tips of your fingers. You also have some of the best personal abuse you could find in Streetfighters, some wisked tests by cheeky so and sos who blag rides from dealers and some of the worst humour lifted straight from Sickipedia.
With all of this, who needs Bike mags? I used to like Fast bikes though, but my guilty secret is that occasionally I still buy Streetfighters. Anyone see the Turbo Pointy 1000 in the letters page last month? Now there is a project... ;-) |
Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I subscribe to Fast Bikes Magazine. When i was in hospital after an off a couple of years ago, I was given virtually every mag that was printed. Fast Bikes seems to be the most honest. They have riding tips from Andy Ibbot (California Superbike School) & long term bikes that they try different things with.

Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I subscribe to Ride, which I find good for reviews of stuff. I used to subscribe to Bike, but I've cancelled that, because every magazine runs the same bike reviews, as I was getting fed up with seeing the same bike tests.
I buy Fast Bikes, because I like the Staff bikes stuff at the back |
Re: Which bike magazine would u recommend?
I subscribe to Bike. I rarely buy/read others, but have nothing against them. I just enjoy Bike magazine and only really have the attention span to read one per month :)
