Soft, spongey rear brake.

Hope someone can help.
I managed to bend my rear break disc by wrapping my lock chain round the rear wheel. anyway i changed the disc and pads but now the rear break is very soft, i have to push the leaver all the way down to work. Any ideas why it would be like this? it wasnt before.

Did the bike fall over when this happened and perhaps you managed to use the rear brake while it was on its side? This could have allowed air into the system and so a simple bleed would be your solution.

No i didnt drop. only went about two meters at very slow spped and heard a clunk. But air could be the culprit, if that isnt the case is there any thing else it could be?
