Then I thought...wouldn't the centrifugal force cause the spirit level bubble to be centred and read level through the corner?

In which case, that bit of kit is possibly quite clever.

possibly, but i dont care i can still brag that i have a lean angle meter thing ;)

It would probably be possible to write an iPhone app to display lean angle, and maybe other useful information as well. Though I wouldn't really want to mount my phone on my bars.
