Starting Problem.

Hi,

Having a problem with my Curvy SV.

Battery is fully charged, however when i try to start the engine the relay clicks but everything goes dead, the lights on the dash everything. When I turn the ignition off then on again the lights come back on, until i try to start it again then the same thing happens.

When I hook up a external booster pack the engine starts fine, but as soon as I disconnect it the engine stops after a few coughs.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Ollie

Check battery connections first. This sometimes happens when the terminals are not well held together/and or corroded, the small contact area will carry sufficient current to allow the lights to come on but won't carry enough for the starter, the small area acts like a fuse and 'blows' when you press the button. If this is the case you'll often see a tiny bit of burning on the terminals when you dismount them.
