Building Regs
Does anyone here have a set of approved plans from a building regs office which I could pinch so I know what sort of information to put on mine?
whilst I am quite capable of putting the drawings and information together no where that I can find (including my local Building regs office) gives me a list of what needs to be included in the submission! Ta Muchly! |
Re: Building Regs
Not at the moment Alex but within a week or two yes, as we have applied for building regs for some alterations to Anne's new place. I'll send em on to you once they're OK'd.

Hows the new pad btw? |
Re: Building Regs
If you introduce a very simple 'mistake' i.e.
a sum of some dimensions with 2 numbers transposed It is usually picked up early and plans returned with line plans OK except for 'mistake' I may be cynical but if no errors present, the approval process takes longer SMcG in Glasgow |

I do BR submissions all the time in Yorkshire and they tend to come back well within the expected time frames  OP, what type of building we talking about? Residential stuff? |
Re: Building Regs
It depends what your applying for, to what information is needed. Anyway, if you send what you have they will either approve it or conditionaly approve it, outlining what else needs to be covered. If your getting your plans drawn up by an architect they should have a good idea as to what is needed.

its the BR submission for my extension, I am awaiting planning approval but i thought whislt I wait I could draw up the BR plans as I have the combined knowledge but dont know how to lay it out on plans, Im happy to pay a professional for advice etc once I have PP, but would rather do the drawings myself, I have heard they are fairly swift around here to be honest, time is the issue, but money is! |
Re: Building Regs
You should be able to just submit a building notice where you wont need to enter any plans, its just a simple form!

Re: Building Regs
OK fair enough, it must be different in other areas. in our area your allowed to submit anything residential on a building notice including new dwellings.
