SV650S K9 - Need a hand installing Scorpio SR-i900 alarm.
Hi all.
I have just put a deposit down for an SV650S K9, and I am looking at fitting the Scorpio SR-i900 myself. I have found plenty of guides on the net for Gixxers and R6's, but nothing for the SV. Has anyone fitted this alarm to their SV, or does anyone know of a forum post here or elsewhere giving information on fitting? Forum/Google search returned nada. Thanks in advance. |

Looking at the spec, it's mostly solid state anyway, so should be fairly easy with a wiring diagram for the bike.
If it's going to be difficult for you, perhaps putting you location in your profile, would see someone local offering a hand :smt102. Cheers Mark |

I'd have thought that this would be better done before you pick up the bike since the installation could be properly certified allowing any kind of insurance discount. Self installation rarely (in the small print) allows the alarm to be considered for insurance discount. The installers often have clever places to hide the bits away too as a result of their previous experiences on the same bikes.

The dealer did offer to install the Datatool Snitcher at cost, but that'd be more expensive than the Scorpio. And with all the rave reviews and owner comments I've read, it's the one accessory I am buying without doubt. |

There's a fair amount or space between the frame and the right hand tailpiece. This is where the Suzuki Acumen siren is usually located. If yours will fit in there, you'll be a long way down the road to a tidy install. I'd recommend soldering the wiring and covering the joints with heat shrink tubing rather than insulating tape that will just end up a mess. You will also be close to the fusebox, battery & pillion seat (if you're fitting a seat switch).
Good luck with it. Garry |

The alarm comes with a kit that prevents the need to cut/solder any wires, keeping everything nice and tidy.
