Solar trickle chargers - opinions?
Anyone tried these? I am looking at the Oxford brand that has 2 solar panels, the Maplin cheaper ones and some cheap eBay item. My bike will get lil use for next 5 months as I will be away a lot and it will be kept in a garage that has no power supply or possibilty of any. So I need something to give a trickle charge inbetween 3 week rides.

Re: Solar trickle chargers
Take the battery out and keep it in a place where there is a trickle charger :)

Re: Solar trickle chargers
I am in the same position, my bike is away for about 3 months over the winter with no electricity, I usually bring the battery into the house to trickle charge, but if these solar ones are any good then I would be interested

Re: Solar trickle chargers
Probably easier to disconnect the battery? I wonder how equally good doing that will be?

Re: Solar trickle chargers
I want to avoid disconnecting battery. The bike will be kept in a rented garage not close to my home for 5 months. It would be far easier if the solar panels charger works as will save me time.
I think I may just go ahead and get one just to see if it is up to the job. Will report back here once I have tested one out. |
