Help for MBK's bike please...new parts needed.

Nic parked her shiny spanking new CBR600rr in a parking bay at the back of her station this morning and the tarmac below it collapsed, leaving a big hole and her bike on it's side....after also hitting the wall and a kerb on the way down. Nic can go into more detail later, but that's the basics of it.

So...she needs...

New left hand mirror

new whole tail section

new pillion seat

new R&G crash bung LH

The tail section has taken a bad blow hitting the kerb and is broken, the pillion seat has ripped leather so needs replacing. The crash bung is scuffed, so she wants that replacing as doesn't want a scuffed part on a shiny bike and the left hand mirror needs replacing.

Her station is saying it's her responsibility due to the fact that she should not have parked around the back...despite it being where all people park their bikes and there being parking bays. She has a big excess and knows it'll push her premiums up, so...if anyone can source these parts or if Holdup is about, get quotes as she can't due to being in work....she'd be most grateful!

Thanks peeps :-)

She should go seek professional advice about that. I wouldn't stand for that sort of tosh..let alone from a cop shop! They still have a responsibility for maintenance of parking facilities for their employees. Unless of course its from this freak rain.

poor shiny shiny bike :-(

if anyone's going to be able to argue who's responsible for the damage then it'll be the police unfortunately :(

also, public sector is under enough of a squeeze at the mo so they'll do everything they can to avoid this sort of expense :(

Get her to take photos of the hole... it's possible that you may be able to claim against their public liability insurance (assuming they have some...)

Paul - it's a 2010 model, she's not had it long at all and it's in the red, white and blue...see here...

Yes Lou....I've told her to pursue it too. I think she's getting the scene of crimes officer to get some proper pictures of it when he comes on shift later.
