Windaz 7

New laptop has arrived with the usual utter crap pre installed thanks to HP,

I would like to do a full refresh install but naturally I have no OEM disk for windaz 7 Home premium for an HP machine and neither have they supplied back up media..

Does anyone have one they would be ok to lend me, and naturally it would be returned after I have refreshed the install?

Many thanks

Alex

check all the paper work - I think you might find a backup copy on the hard drive that you can burn off.

indeedy.. this will give me the recover disks - However this recovers the machine with all the crap pre installed, i.e all the crap I am trying to remove. :-) (without sitting for hours going through the add / remove)

Someone elses disk probably wont work with your Key provided by HP, that key will only work with a HP Volume Install, not a Retail Version.

Why not just go into the control panel, go to Uninstall a program and clear the rubbish off that way.

Same with 3 Sony laptops I've had, used the included software to burn the recovery DVDs and when used to reinstall the OS none of the preinstalled junk (Yahoo! toolbar et al) was put on, just the OS and a couple of Sony helper programs (to manage WiFi/BT amongst other things) which were then manually uninstalled.
