Lake passes rideout Sunday 12th September

Aiming to get all the rides I've not done for a while in before the end of the season, so thinking of doing Kirkstone, Whinlatter and Honister Passes this sunday.

Some great views and stretches of road + Whinlatter was the site a few years back where 1 of my mates memorably and spectacuarly joined the scenery  and I've not been down recently to have a lil chuckle to myself!

So if anyone cares to join me you're more than welcome :D

Plan(ish) is to get to the Bridge for 10.30 for breakfast then take the back road into Bowness and onto Kirkstone. Probably stop for lunch in Keswick after the Honister loop. And on the way back do the Struggle back to Kirkstone. Its about 130 miles starting and finishing at the bridge

Woman who weightlifts with cats?;)

I'm not allowed out this weekend after last Sunday:(, but what's the big deal with Hardknott and Wrynose?

Not a dig, just I see it mentioned quite a bit and I don't think they're too bad (except Eskdale prices for a cuppa) if ridden gently.

Ste

If I was gonna pick my best biking road it would have to be free from sheep, gravel, streams running across it,hairpin bends steep downhill, cambered uphill bits all on a bike with no steering lock, narrow bits where theres just enough space for the bike and a car.

Guess that leaves Hardknott sh!t out of luck ;)

tbf i've only ever done Hardknott in the car (that was eventful in itself) so I can't really comment, but not my idea of fun unless you've got the right bike for it

Wrynose isn't anything to worry about really no,you get used to the sheep snoozing in the middle of the road :)
