CityLink were unable to deliver my package so they've taken it to my local depot - 35 miles away

Are they taking the ****? "Local depot" at leeming bar (I'm inside york ring road!) That's a 70 mile round trip to collect a package because the automated telephone service is saying that they're unable to redeliver this item... F*****G W*****S

Get them to redliver it to your work address. If its in the same area, then tehre is no reason why it shouldnt be done like that. This is always an option with Citylink.

They have to get a signiture, or else they are liable for the package if it gets stolen.

When i order stuff i always find out who is delivering it and if possible ask for it to be sent by royal mail.

York City isn't exactly an island in the middle of the sea... It's the home of Nestle, a football club, a reasonably well respected university, several colleges, many schools, lots of businesses and around 190,000 local population... Why stick a depot in the middle of no where near a military base? First royal mail, now the private sector..

Ironically enough I work 35 miles away from home in the opposite direction to leeming bar.. And as for who sent it - that dodgy krhall guy from here has caused this mess

If I could go on the bike I would (traffic on the A1 at leeming bar is always ****ed) but it's an abba superbike stand so it defo won't fit on the rack without being dangerous

Hmm, huge warehouse requiring big area of expensive land with a near constant stream of massive artics and LWB delivery vans coming and going...

Sounds ideal for the city centre...;)

Just spoken to a bloody scotch guy in glasgow (sorry husky, my vocabulary has been permanently altered ) and apparently they've tried to redeliver it again about half an hour ago... That's my 3 attempts now so it's gonna be back at the depot from about half 5 tonight and they'll hold it till friday.. Brilliant.

@Lonewolf - I'm not saying it has to be in the city centre but York itself is quite geographically isolated compared to the likes of leeds, bradford, huddersfield, wakefield, halifax which are all connected together with little open space in between.. York has a loads of open space around it (many depots and warehouses are located just outside the ringroad towards small villages).

At the very least they could change the bit on the card which says "How to find your local city link depot" because in my mind 35 miles away isn't local. *****s.

Well it is local to you. Better than having to go to the national dept which is probably in birmingham.

Sadly this is one of the problems of buying stuff online. Most of my local depots are in Dartford and some of them are a pian in the ass to find. Still its a ride out on the bike :) Amazing what you can get on the bike witht he right straps etc :)
