Will this entirely unsuitable exhaust fit my bike?

Would this exhaust fit a curvy 650 with a bit of effort?

Re: Exhaust Fittings

You'll need to fabricate or find a suitable link pipe and three bolt adaptor to turn it in to a slip on. Banditmania sell the adaptor but I'm not too sure about the link pipe.

OK.

I have no idea what any of that ^^^ means..... :)

Cool.
In basic terms, where the bolts are visible on the end of the can, that's where it secures to the original bike's exhaust. The SV system is welded on so it will need the end can cutting off. The can will need an adaptor bolting on to make it clamp over the exhaust pipe, and a length of pipe to make it fit at the right angle/length.
The short answer is yes, it will fit, but with a couple of other parts too.
I got my ART can off ebay for £20, and a high level link there too for about £10 inc. hanging bracket, and the adaptor from Banditmania for about £20 delivered.

you'll need to cut the existing pipe down near the front footpeg. You then need a link pipe to go from there up to the can. Like the one shown with this can

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SV650-03-ROAD-...item563eb10205

The can you're looking at needs a connector so you can then attach it to the link pipe. The connector fits to the can with three bolts.

That can looks a wee but tatty to me. By the time you've got the other bits you need you could have a new can (which will come with a link pipe).

That Kawasaki pipe's also not road legal.

EDIT: Beaten to it! And I didn't realise you could get the other bits so cheap - never seen them at that price. I'll get back in my hole.

Re: Exhaust Fittings

I have an Art can just now so I believe all the bits and bobs are there, so would it be a case of taking my can off and popping the other on?

I don't think I'll be getting that one as like TamSV said it's a bit rough but just wondered whether I can broaden my search beyond "sv650 exhaust".

Oh, and my current can may or may not be road legal.... ;)

Can a mod change the title of the thread to "Do not read - question now answered" please?

Cheers
