Undertray choices, Curvy?
 

With there been quite a few different manufactures of undertrays out there i was hoping for a bit of advise. At the moment i have a cheap one fitted but this is on top (or underneath) the stock tray and seems to of been fitted by a chimp with no sort of mechanical or hand tool skills at all. I'm looking at getting a new one to replace both parts so which undertrays come with a battery box? also i've got a zx10 shock fitted so is there any that would suit it better? any one had a nightmare with certain makes? figure that whilst the bikes in pieces i might as well do everything properly.

Pyramid Plastics seem to be one of the best around.

TBH I didn't think any of them come with a battery box though!

My sv650s was fitted with a ermax undertray, it didn't last long. I started to notice cracks after 1 month which grew quickly and was binned after 3 months. It didn't come with battery box either.

cheers think i'll just keep an eye out on evilbay and here for any that come up for sale if nothings come up by the time my bikes rebuilt i'll just have to purchase a new one or see if i can sort out the current one thats fitted.

The official Suzuki replacement undertray came with a battery box, like Fizzwheel had on his curvy. They looked good, but cannot be bought now AFAIK - manufactured by TCP Aerodynamics, see here http://www.tcpsa.com/

If you can find an old stock or second hand one, it's the best for the curvy IMHO.

One other comes with a battery box that I know of, from a French manufacturer but I cannot remember the name and Google is not jogging my memory.

Not massively fussed about the battery box just thought that if there was an after market one out there with a batt box i could get that, if not i'll just get a replacement one and fit it alongside the stock one. Cheers for your help

I bought a 2nd hand OEM snow shovel & cut it down, so I had a good battery box & somewhere to solidly mount the ECU. Chopped it down by about a 1/3. Then mounted my unknown undertray :p

The one Luckypants mentioned might be available direct from them. It will be well made, but expensive.

The oem one currently fitted was already cut down and i've since cut the battery box when i fitted my zx10 shock. Think the undertray has just not been trimmed very well and is now cracked in a few points, going to take it all of when i get chance and see if its salvagable. if one comes up at a decent price i might just replace it anyway otherwise i'll see what i can do with this one and maybe buy a new one next year. Did a search on the ones luckypants mentioned but a few people on the forum have reported problems with them cracking due to the weight of the battery.

just looked on the tcp website and their selling them for 229 euro's bit steep i think

Thats why I used the cut down OEM undertray as support, as none of the other ones are built with any reinforcement to take the weight of the battery
